About The New York City SharePoint Developers User Group
The New York SharePoint Developers User Group welcomes anyone interested in developing for the Microsoft SharePoint 2007 or SharePoint 2010 platforms. We meet the third Wednesday of every month.
This group is dedicated to finding the best solutions to SharePoint customization and enhancement projects, which means our group is not just about ASP.NET and Visual Studio. Sometimes JQuery, code created with SharePoint specific tools like K2 blackpoint or CorasWorks, or even data views created in SharePoint Designer is the best way to go.
We also emphasize that the most important thing a SharePoint developer needs to know is exactly what is provided Out-of-the-Box (OOTB), so existing functionality is not duplicated. This requires the developer to have a very good working knowledge of the client interface as well as SharePoint administration, the capabilities of InfoPath forms, Excel Services, BDC, etc.
Each month a SharePoint professional will present a technical presentation on some subject concerning SharePoint development.
